About Superfoods Advisor

Superfoods Advisor is an editorial encyclopedia of foods and ingredients that are studied — sometimes seriously, sometimes speculatively — for their effects on human health.

A face-down stack of printed pages held with a bulldog clip, a pencil and half a lemon on sage-green paperA small heap of fresh blueberries with a few strays rolled away, on terracotta paper in hard sun

What this site is

Two things: a growing encyclopedia of individual foods, herbs, and ingredients (with the peer-reviewed evidence behind each), and a smaller set of guides, recipes, and long-form science essays that connect those entries to how people actually eat.

Everything is cited. Health claims are hedged to match the strength of the underlying research. Preliminary in-vitro work is not described as if it were a randomized human trial.

What this site is not

It is not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure anything. It does not tell you what supplement to take. It gives you what the research shows and what its limits are so you can have a better conversation with a qualified clinician.

Editorial standards

Who writes it

Every page is published under one byline, the Superfoods Advisor Editors. The editorial standards set out how sources are chosen, how claims are calibrated, and how products are picked.
